The Hong Kong Village Screen | Hand-Painted Black & Gold Lacquer, 1970s
$1,650.00 USD
This three-panel screen is 96 inches wide and 83.5 inches tall. Black lacquer and gold paint depict classic Asian village life, with pagodas, buildings, trees and small figures spread across all three panels. The detail is hand painted, and the gold ground gives the scene a soft glow in lamplight.
The screen was custom ordered and crafted in Hong Kong, then brought to the United States in the 1970s for a private home, where it stayed and was kept in great condition for decades. It is a large statement piece for a dining room, hallway or wall. Dust it with a soft dry cloth and keep it out of damp.
Naree chose it for Uniquely Thai Lao TV.
