Tropical Specimen Shadow Box: The Rainforest, Framed & Preserved
The Rainforest Seed Vault is a tropical specimen shadow box that brings the structural beauty of the rainforest into your home as permanent, displayable art. Inside each deep wooden frame, a curated selection of real tropical seeds and pods — collected from the jungle floor, not a factory — is arranged in a precise scientific layout against vintage-style cardstock. The result is part natural history archive, part statement wall piece, and entirely unlike anything else you'll find in a frame.
Real Tropical Seeds & Pods — Collected, Sterilized & Archived for Life
Every specimen in the Rainforest Seed Vault is 100% real — genuine tropical seeds and pods sourced from rainforest environments, including structural giants like Entada beans, Buddha Nuts, and a rotating selection of pods, cones, and seed heads depending on the season and size you choose. No two frames contain exactly the same specimens. Each one is a unique archive of what the jungle produces.
Long-Lasting Inactivation: What Makes These Seeds Safe & Permanent
Unlike standard dried botanicals, every seed in this collection has undergone a professional inactivation and sterilization process — the same standard used in museum natural history collections. This treatment renders the seeds biologically dormant, free from pests, mold, and decay, and safe for permanent indoor display. The result is a frame that can remain beautiful for years with proper care, with no maintenance required beyond keeping it away from direct moisture. Five Sizes: From Intimate Desktop Study to Grand Wall Statement
The Rainforest Seed Vault is available in five sizes to suit any space and intention. The 5" square is a focused desktop study — ideal for a shelf or gallery wall cluster. The 8" and 10" squares step up the presence without overwhelming a wall. The A4 is the most versatile format, suited to both desk and wall display. The A3 is the grand statement — large enough to showcase the biggest specimens in full scale and anchor an entire wall on its own. Not sure how to hang your chosen size without damaging the wall? Earthy Tones & Woody Textures — Why This Frame Works in Any Interior
The colour palette of the Rainforest Seed Vault is entirely natural: mahogany, tan, chocolate, rust, and warm cream. These tones sit comfortably in almost any interior — from warm Japandi and Wabi-Sabi to cool Scandinavian and industrial. The structural, geometric quality of the seed pod arrangement gives the frame a modern, almost architectural quality that makes it equally at home in a home office, a living room, or a den.
A Natural History Gift for Collectors & Nature Enthusiasts
The Rainforest Seed Vault makes an exceptional gift for natural history collectors, biology enthusiasts, and anyone who finds beauty in the structural logic of the natural world. It arrives ready to display — wall hooks and a tabletop stand included — with no assembly required. It is the rare gift that is genuinely educational, genuinely beautiful, and genuinely impossible to find anywhere else.
The Rainforest Seed Vault
This framed botanical specimen brings together real tropical seeds and pods in the style of an old natural history archive, preserving the strange shapes, textures, and structures that usually disappear beneath the forest floor.
Each specimen is arranged inside a deep wooden frame against vintage-inspired botanical labeling, creating something that feels part scientific study, part cabinet of curiosities, and entirely at home in The Seed Library.
From sculptural pods to tiny seeds that look almost engineered rather than grown, every piece offers a closer look at the remarkable architecture plants create before a leaf ever appears.
Display it on a desk, shelf, or wall as a quiet piece of natural history, or choose a larger format for a more dramatic botanical statement.
Because real natural specimens are used, variations in size, shape, color, texture, and arrangement are expected and make each frame unique.
