Meet Rosalie, the Golden Pothos.

Rosalie is a hopeless romantic, and she’s not the least bit embarrassed about it.

With her golden-kissed leaves, trailing vines, and a tendency to reach toward anything that makes her happy, Rosalie believes that love is something you grow into. She appreciates a little sunshine, thoughtful attention, and someone who remembers the small things.

She’s cheerful, affectionate, and rather fond of grand romantic gestures. Although she insists that simply sharing a windowsill with someone special is romantic enough.

And then there’s her beloved.

Rosalie is hopelessly devoted to her handsome Heartleaf Philodendron, Julian. The two have been inseparable ever since their vines first crossed, and she has absolutely no intention of changing that.

He gives her room to grow. She brings a little sunshine into his life. Neither can quite remember what the conservatory was like before the other arrived.

A Little Love Story

Rosalie and her sweetheart make a lovely pair, and we’d be delighted to see them find a home together.

They enjoy similar living conditions, including bright, indirect light, comfortable temperatures, and a little breathing room between waterings. Their compatible care needs make them wonderful companions in the same room or on neighboring plant stands.

Of course, they can thrive separately. But Rosalie would like it known that she finds the suggestion terribly unromantic.

Her perfect match? Someone who believes in happy endings, appreciates a little affection, and understands that sometimes the best things in life come in pairs. 

Of course, no great love story is entirely without complications.

Lately, those complications have taken the form of Bianca.

Bianca insists that she and Julian are simply friends. Rosalie would like to know why, then, Bianca keeps finding excuses to place herself beside him, compliment his leaves, and mention how much they have in common.

Rosalie is not jealous. She’s observant.

And if Bianca thinks a few pretty leaves and a shared botanical family are enough to steal her man, she has another thing coming.

Julian has suggested everyone try getting along.

Neither lady found this particularly helpful.

Meet Rosalie

• Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum
• Common Names: Golden Pothos, Devil’s Ivy
• Plant Type: Tropical evergreen climbing vine
• Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Tolerates lower light, although her golden variegation may become less pronounced.
• Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry before watering. Avoid leaving her roots in soggy soil.
• Humidity: Average household humidity is generally suitable, although she appreciates a little extra moisture in the air.
• Temperature: Prefers 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from cold drafts.
• Growth Habit: Trailing or climbing, with heart-shaped green leaves marked by irregular golden-yellow variegation.
• Pet Safety: Toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or ingested. Keep out of reach of curious pets and children. 
  

Rosalie is generally easygoing, but she dislikes soggy roots, chilly drafts, and being left in harsh afternoon sunlight.

She also dislikes Bianca, although that’s an entirely different problem.

A Note About Her Sweetheart

Rosalie’s beloved Heartleaf Philodendron is available separately in The Character Garden.

While the two share similar care preferences, they do not biologically depend on one another. They can be displayed together in separate pots, allowing each plant to receive the individual care it needs.

Rosalie would still prefer that you keep them close. After all, what’s a love story without a little togetherness?

You will receive a live Golden Pothos in the pot size selected. Each Rosalie grows a little differently, so height, vine length, leaf count, fullness, and golden variegation naturally vary.

Styled photographs may depict mature plants or decorative arrangements. The plant received will correspond to the size and options selected. Decorative planters are included only when expressly specified. Other props and accessories are not included.

Minor cosmetic blemishes or shipping stress may occur. Unpack promptly and inspect the plant upon arrival.

If Rosalie arrives with significant damage or a condition concern, contact hello@thelovefern.com within 24 hours of delivery. Include your order number and clear photographs of the entire plant, affected areas, shipping box, and shipping label. Retain the plant and packaging while your concern is reviewed.
