Hand Carved Beijing Sideboard

Dark elm, hand-carved dragons, and the kind of presence that makes a room feel older the moment it arrives.

This vintage Beijing sideboard is carved across the drawer fronts and apron with sinuous dragon motifs and traditional decorative detailing. The deep wood tone and brass hardware give it a restrained richness, while the substantial scale makes it equally suited to a dining room, library, entry hall, or private sitting room.

Crafted from elm, the piece has the weight and character expected of furniture made to be lived with rather than merely looked at. Age-related lines, small marks, and surface wear remain visible and are consistent with its vintage condition.

Chosen for Home of Ilex because it feels like the sort of piece that might have stood in the house for years, quietly holding objects no one has thought to ask about.
