Meet Heidi, the Monstera Adansonii ‘Swiss Cheese’.

Heidi considers herself an adventurer. Her latest expedition was across the bookshelf, but she’s confident it counts.

Curious, sociable, and always looking for somewhere new to explore, she brings a little wandering spirit to your home. Her beautifully holey leaves are her signature look, though she would appreciate everyone finding something else to discuss at dinner.

She loves a scenic spot, interesting company, and hearing about the places you’ve been. Mention a cheese board and she’ll assume she’s invited.

Kevin offered to help her create a five-year plan. Heidi asked whether it included a window seat.

Her perfect match? Someone with a curious heart, room for a little growth, and an appreciation for a companion who takes the scenic route.

  • Botanical Name: Monstera adansonii

  • Common Name(s): Adanson's monstera, Swiss cheese vine, five holes plant
  • Description: The Swiss Cheese plant, gets its name from its large, heart-shaped leaves, which become covered with holes that resemble swiss cheese as it gets older. Part of the Araceae family that's native to South and Central America, this Monstera is easy to grow and loves to climb and grow upwards.
  • Care difficulty: 4/10 • Easy with a basic routine
Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun.
Water: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Let excess water drain away.
Humidity: Prefers higher humidity and a warm spot away from cold drafts.
Pets: Toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or swallowed.

She’s fairly easy once settled, but needs more attention to moisture and humidity than Jeffrey.

Minor cosmetic blemishes or shipping stress may occur. Unpack promptly, place in bright, indirect light, and check the soil before watering. Allow excess water to drain.
