Kevin | Money Tree 'Guiana Chestnut' Pachira Braid

Meet Kevin, the Money Tree.

Kevin has big plans. A corner office, a diversified portfolio, perhaps a holiday home. For now, he’s working from your living room and considers every new leaf a promising return on investment.

With his braided trunk and leafy canopy, he looks remarkably qualified for someone whose entire financial strategy is “keep growing.” He’ll happily listen to your business ideas, though we wouldn’t put him in charge of the accounts.

Kevin brings an optimistic presence to your space. He believes in you, your next chapter, and the possibility that this meeting could have been an email.

His perfect match? Someone with a few dreams in progress, a sense of humor, and room for a companion who’s always rooting for them.

• Botanical Name: Pachira aquatica

• Common Name(s): Guiana Chestnut, Money Tree

• Description: Native to central and South America, the Money Tree is a braided tree that can grow up to 6-8 feet indoors or be trained as a bonsai. In east Asia, the Money Tree is often used by those who practice Feng Shui to bring positive "Chi", or energy, into the room, thus being a popular housewarming gift. On top of that, it is a hardy plant that requires relatively low maintenance. It can tolerate direct sunlight, but prefers bright indirect light, lots of water, and warm temperatures.

• Care difficulty: 4/10 • Easy with a basic routine
Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Let excess water drain away.
Humidity: Normal household humidity is usually fine. Keep away from cold drafts and heating vents.
Pets: Considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.

He’s fairly easygoing, but soggy soil and sudden changes in conditions can cause problems.
